Michael Phelps says he suffered from depression


The 23-time Olympic champion admitted in a tweet that he was suffering from depression and wanted to kill himself.
The American swimmer said he sought help from a therapist: "I suffered from anxiety and depression and wondered if I wanted to move on with my life. When I realized that I had reached such a state, I decided to seek the help of a specialist. This decision really saved my life. Don't go to extremes." – Phelps tweeted
Phelps is a 23-time Olympic champion and the absolute record holder for the number of awards (28) in the history of the Olympic Games.
As a child, Phelps suffered from under-noticed syndrome and hyperactivity disorder
